Clinician – Kiefer School
GRADE: VIII, Salaried
Provides effective clinical treatment to clients and families that results in increased functioning, consults with staff and assists in treatment planning, and maintains professional boundaries and demeanor. Qualifications: Master's Degree in Social Work or related field and licensure or ISBE school social worker or school psychologist certification. Experience working with similar age populations of children as served in Kiefer School. Demonstrates maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences in children, staff and families served; ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing; ability to work effectively within a treatment team; ability to handle job related matters in a professional, diplomatic, and confidential manner. Hearing and speaking ability which allows for effective oral communication of information; ability to physically transport self and clients to various locations; physical and emotional stamina to effectively handle job related problems and stress; physical ability to initiate and assist in physical restraints.
Assistant Coordinator – Atlantis
GRADE: VII, Salaried
Works directly with clients to provide for their care, welfare, safety, security and protection of their rights in accordance with individual service plans, the program plan, and applicable licensing and accreditation standards; provides therapeutic services in accordance with agency mission, residential treatment philosophy and program goals. Assists program coordinator in supervision of routine tasks on assigned shifts, supervision of staff and provides leadership to staff while on shift. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree preferred in social services or related field; with at least 2 years of related experience preferred, or high school diploma, with at least a minimum of 2 years of experience and having worked with children and youth in such settings as residential, group homes, family services, juvenile justice, foster care, and special education; provided they are extensively experienced and highly trained. Leadership skills, child care skills; dependability; ability to work objectively with disturbed children; ability and judgment to work independently; demonstrated maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences in children and families served; ability to handle job-related matters in a professional, diplomatic, and confidential manner. Clinician – Atlantis, Foster Cottage
GRADE: VIII, Salaried
Provides direct clinical treatment to assigned clients and families including assessment, rehabilitative service plan development and implementation, and documentation of services, provide training/consultation to agency staff. Qualifications: Master’s Degree in a social service or behavioral science field. One year (two years preferred) of successful full-time experience in working with behavior disordered/emotionally disturbed youth preferred. Must be able to work in a multi-disciplinary team framework; effective interpersonal relationship skill; high level skills in oral and written communications; dependability; demonstrates maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences in children, staff, and families served; ability to handle job-related matters in a professional, diplomatic, and confidential manner; strong organizational skills, and ability to organize and execute responsibilities in an independent manner. Vision, hearing and speaking ability that allows for effective communication of information; ability to physically restrain clients as needed; ability to transport self and clients to various locations; ability to pass DCFS driving requirements; physical and emotional stamina to effectively handle job-related issues and stress.
Overnight Worker – Atlantis (32 hrs/wk), Caterpillar Cottage
GRADE: III, Hourly
Provides awake, overnight coverage in one or more of the agency’s out-of-home placement programs during normal sleeping hours of residents; ensures care, welfare, safety and security of clients on third shift. Qualifications: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. Related experience preferred. Child care skills, dependability; ability to work objectively with disturbed children; ability and judgement to work independently; demonstrated maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences in children and families served; ability to handle job related matters in a professional, diplomatic, and confidential manner. Must be at least 21 years of age to meet DCFS requirements; if residents in the program are female, then the overnight counselor must also be a female in order to meet DCFS requirements; ability to remain awake while residents are sleeping and the unit/home is quiet; vision, hearing and speaking ability which allows for effective communication of information; ability to physically restrain residents as needed, physical and emotional stamina to effectively handle job related issues and stress. Valid driver’s license and ability to transport self and clients to various locations; ability to pass DCFS driving requirements.
Therapist: School Mental Health Liaison – Behavioral Health Services
GRADE: IX, Salaried
Provide individual, group and family interventions to youth attending targeted schools. Program development, staff training and consultation are also critical components. Qualifications: Master’s degree in Social Work or related field (LCSW or LCPC preferred). Experience and/or other training preparing one to work with multi-problem youth, especially in school settings. Strong interpersonal skills; strong written and oral communication skills; ability to effectively relate to youth, families, community agencies and referral sources; ability to work independently and as an active team member; demonstrates maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences in children and families served; ability to handle job related matters in a professional, diplomatic and confidential manner. Quality Improvement Specialist
GRADE: VI, Salaried
Assist the Director in implementing and monitoring effective quality improvement systems. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and one year of job-related experience; knowledge of one or more programs. Knowledge and experience with Medicaid Rule 132. Organizes workload and manages time effectively; proficient in utilizing office systems and equipment; experience with computer software programs such as Access, Excel, Word; interacts effectively with others in carrying out job responsibilities; handles job related matters in a professional, diplomatic, and confidential manner. Excellent written and oral communication skills. In addition uses consistent discretion and judgment regarding quality of services being provided including compliance with Rule 132 and COA standards. Physical ability to utilize computer equipment and calculator on a routine basis; ability to hear and speak to effectively communicate information over the telephone and face-to-face; ability to move heavy boxes of computer paper and set it up for use in the printer.
Child Care Worker – Good Beginnings (Part-time, Temporary, 3-4hrs/wk)
Responsible for providing child care services during parenting groups. Qualifications: Knowledge of normal child growth/development and parent-child relationships prefered. Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as an active team member; demonstrates maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences in children and family services; ability to handle job related matters in a professional, diplomatic, and confidential manner; effective written and oral communication skills. Assists teacher with classroom activities to ensure academic and behavioral functioning of students, and maintains professional boundaries and demeanor. Qualifications: Teacher Assistant Certificate or thirty hours college credit. Classroom experience strongly preferred, practical experience working with children. Strong interpersonal skills, maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences in students, staff, and families served; effective oral and written communication skills; ability to work within a treatment team; ability to handle job related matters in a professional, diplomatic and confidential manner. Provide pre-hospital screenings for psychiatric care, diversion services and in-home clinical services to children and their families. Qualifications: Master’s degree in Social Work or related field (LCSW or LCPC preferred). Experience and/or other training preparing one to work with multi-problem youth in their own homes and other agencies.
