Giving youth the opportunity to succeed…Now and in the future! At Children’s Home, we treat our children in the community as who they are: the most precious resource in our community.
The Leaders of Tomorrow program is a key component of our agency’s prevention services and is a collaborative effort with District #150. This program if fully supported by donors in our community.
Twenty incoming freshman are identified as needing intervention of support, tutoring, mentoring and professional guidance to increase the likelihood of their graduation from high school.
From Youth in Leaders of Tomorrow program:
“Never take life for granted…cherish every day like it’s your last…he helped me choose the college I’ll be going to…he helped me understand how important college is and why I should go. Thank you and I am going to miss you!!!! He also taught me that life isn’t easy. Take each step one by one and never let anyone tell you that you can’t achieve your goals.”
“Even though I don’t do the same things other people do I shouldn’t change who I am to impress others…everything in life can be achieved as long as I am a leader and not a follower.”
I join our Board of Trustees and Foundation Board of Directors in thanking our community for supporting this successful program since 2002- we would not be able to serve our mission… of giving children a childhood and a future without you.
