Community Events

Amanda’s Project is a series of “special purpose” events coordinated by a local organization to raise money to renovate the foster home of a 7-year-old girl with special needs. Amanda is and will be wheelchair bound her entire life and in order for her to be adopted by her foster parents and remain in the home, $25,000 in renovations need to be made.

The Jack Kenny 5K Run/Walk is an annual event held by the St. Patrick Society of Peoria at Glen Oak Park. To date, this event has raised over $12,250 for our children and families.

Keepsacks for Kids is a volunteer-driven project held annually at the Peoria RiverPlex that provides hand-made blankets and personal tote bags to the children and families in our community who are in need of extra support and comfort during the winter months.

Old Chicago “Raise the Roof” is an annual event held at Old Chicago at The Shoppes at Grand Prairie where two Old Chicago employees spend three days and nights on the restaurant rooftop to raise money for Children’s Home. The weekend also includes live music, a car wash, dunk tank and raffle.
