Resident Advisor - SILP
Provides therapeutic services to youth in order to encourage progressive independence, kinship connections and sustainability of learned skills in accordance with the agency mission, TLP treatment philosophy and program goals. Equips clients with the necessary tools for successful emancipation including helping them to provide for their care, welfare, safety, security and protection of their rights in accordance with their individual service plan, program plan, and applicable licensing/accreditation standards. Assist youth with necessary skills to be successful in utilizing community resources.Education and Experience: Associates Degree in Human Services or related area preferred and/or 3 years experience serving adolescents. Skill Requirements: Ability to work with youth in order to enhance independence versus dependence; dependability; ability and judgment to work independently; demonstrated maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences in youth and families served; ability to handle job related matters in a professional, diplomatic, and confidential manner.Physical Requirements: Must be at least 21 years of age of meet DCFS requirements; ability to remain awake and alert while on shift; vision, hearing, writing and speaking ability which allows for effective communication of information; physical and emotional stamina to effectively handle job related issues and stress; valid driver’s license and ability to transport self and youth to various locations.
