ADOPTION SERVICE DEFINITION

The service population of the Adoption Unit includes children who have been legally freed for adoption, children who have been through the legal screening process of the Department of Children and Family Services, prospective adoptive parents, and birth parents.

Currently the majority of our adoptions are children who have been provided services within our foster care programs. We also accept referrals from other agencies when it appears that a family licensed by our agency would best meet a particular child’s needs.
