POLICY ON POST-LEGAL ADOPTION SERVICES

Children’s Home recognizes the need to provide services to parties that have been involved in an adoption subsequent to the adoption taking place. The adoption process is a life long process and areas of concern may arise at different points of a family’s life together. Because of our commitment to meet the needs that may arise, we offer two alternatives:

· Within Children’s Home system are Masters level staff who are willing to provide counseling services to members of an adoptive family. These services are provided on an hourly basis, and arrangements will be made to be flexible to meet with the family when their schedule will allow. At present, the hourly rate charged for these services is $26.86. The length of services provided would be determined the family and the counselor together, in order to meet everyone’s needs.
· The other option available is a referral to the Adoption Preservation Program provided by Lutheran Social Services. Services are individualized to meet the needs of the family.
· To access either of these alternatives, members of an adoptive family may call the Adoption Coordinator. The Adoption Coordinator will provide intake/screening services to determine with the family which alternative would best meet their needs. The Adoption Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating these services.
