LOCAL INTERNATIONAL
INTERIOR DESIGN ASSOCIATION CHAPTER COMPLETES A CHARITY ROOM
RENOVATION
Peoria,
IL – You don’t have
to tune into HGTV to learn the newest techniques for giving your
interior space a makeover. Peoria has its own talented interior
design experts who utilized their talents to give the common
spaces of the Children’s Home Association of Illinois’ Endeavour
Group Home the warmth and spark to brighten anyone’s day.
On Saturday
and Sunday, June 3rd and 4th members of
the Central Illinois City Center Chapter of the International
Interior Design Association (IIDA) re-designed the common areas
of the Endeavor Group Home for The Children’s Home Association
of Illinois. Designers from apace Design, Demanes Interiors,
Lincoln Office, OSF Healthcare, Widmer Interiors, along with
local manufacturer’s representatives donated their time and
efforts to provide an amazing transformation of the group home
that currently houses eight boys,17-20 years of age, who are in
need of transitional housing.
Many
vendors and local businesses joined IIDA to make the renovation
possible through product donation and sponsorship, including
apaceDesign, J&J/Invision Carpet, Patcraft Carpet, OFS
Furniture, Lincoln Office, D.L. Couch Wallcovering, Natural
Cork, MDC Wallcovering, Maharam Fabric, Momentum Fabric, Elite
Painting, Hundman Lumber, Just B.U. Properties, Widmer
Interiors, Architex Fabric, and several private sponsors.
The
designers repainted the space, including some eye popping color
accents, installed ‘metal-look’ protective wall covering,
created built-in furniture pieces and demonstrated how worn
pieces of furniture get new life with fabric and finishes. The
before and after pictures are quite remarkable.
The
Children’s Home Association of Illinois extends sincere thanks
and appreciation to Amanda Voorhees and the entire membership of
the Central Illinois City Center Chapter of the International
Interior Design Association for the interior space makeover of
it’s Endeavour Group Home.
