A Holiday Thank You

Holidays are a very busy time and sometimes we don’t stop to fully appreciate the magnitude of what has happened to us until things quiet down and we have time to reflect on all of our blessings.

When we started reviewing what people in the community did for our children and families during this period of time, we were astounded by the generosity.  It was not just the dollars sent, it was church after church and synagogues, it was groups of teens and it was moms and dads bringing their children in to deliver their gifts in person and it was school buses lining up out front with smiling students dropping off the gifts they had purchased.  It was the City of East Peoria adopting a young mom and her baby.  It was also about Angie, our angel in the front office, who greeted all of these folks, rejoiced in every gift and proclaimed, “Maybe Santa is real.”

These gifts came not only from individuals and groups in Peoria, but from many surrounding communities as well.  We met many good and generous people who just wanted to touch the lives of kids.  We are very appreciative of what all of you have done to care for kids and families and it is good to work and live with you.

I wish you and your family the very best in this New Year.

Sincerely,
James G. Sherman
