3rd Annual Make a Difference Day  -- View Pictures here

Over 300 Youth and adults volunteered the weekend of October 25 for Make a Difference Day.  This is the third year the community has participated in this national event, America’s largest day of caring, sponsored by the Weekend Magazine and Points of Light Foundation.   Volunteers cleaned up landscape waste and raked leaves in over 40 yards of senior citizens and disabled individuals. In addition, they picked up litter and landscape waste in the ten neighborhoods.  A huge thank you to everyone involved for making this event such a success! 

Ten areas in the City of Peoria neighborhoods hosted large dumpsters for landscape waste and litter. The following areas hosted and monitored the dumpsters:

·         Olde Towne South

·         East Bluff

·         Near Northside

·         West Bluff

·         Averyville

·         Columbia Terrace North

·         Common Place

 

Twenty-four community sponsors included the following:
